Google Completes Search Console Video Index Report Rollout

August 26, 2022

The report will help you understand your video’s performance on Google Search.

Why does this matter?

If Google added this report to Google Search Console, this means that you should take every opportunity to make use of videos.

The report will have the following:

  • The indexed pages on your site containing a video that Google has indexed including some details;
  • The indexed pages on your site where Google found one or more videos, but could not index any video including some details.

The report will not have the following:

  • It does not normally show a count of unique videos on your site.
  • It only covers your site’s indexed pages.

What to look for?

  • Check if the total of the Video indexed + No video indexed is equal to the number of pages with videos on your site.
  • Review if you have a high No video indexed count. This indicates video indexing issues (not page indexing issues: this is when your page is not indexed by Google).
  • Monitor if the trend is increasing over time especially if you have a larger website with many videos.

Google Search Console – What Is It? How Does it Work?

Google Search Console (GSC) is a free service that helps website owners understand how visitors interact with their site. It provides insights into how users find and navigate your site, which can help you optimize your content and design.

What is Google Search Console?

GSC is a free service provided by Google that allows website owners to see how visitors interact with their sites. This includes where people come from when they visit your site, how often they return, and whether they click through to other pages on your site.

How Does it Work? And Why Should I Care?

GSC works by sending data back to Google every time a user visits your site. This data helps Google understand how users interact with your site, so it can better serve them in future searches. You can also use GSC to learn more about your site’s performance.

How Do You Set Up Google Search Console?

To set up GSC, go to https://www.google.com/webmastertools/. Next, click “Sign In” at the top right corner of the screen. Next, enter your email address and password. Then click “Create Account.” Once you’re logged in, click “Add URL.” Finally, paste your website’s URL into the box and click “Submit.”

How Can I Use Google Search Console?

You’ll see a list of errors and warnings on the left side of the screen. You’ll find data about your site’s performance on the right side. This includes how often people visit your site, where they come from, and how much time they spend there. If you notice any issues with your site, you can fix them by clicking “Fix Errors & Warnings” on the left side of your screen.

How Do I Monitor My Site’s Performance?

To monitor your site’s performance, click on the “Search Traffic” tab at the top of the page. From here, you can view the number of visitors to your site and the countries they’re coming from. You can also see how long people stay on your site and whether they leave after viewing just one page or multiple pages.

How To Add A User To Google Search Console

Google Search Console allows you to see how visitors interact with your site, and helps you improve your SEO strategy. It also lets you create custom reports that show you where your traffic comes from, which pages are most popular, and much more.

Google: Search Console’s Performance Report Data for August 23 & 24 Lost

by Josh

An internal problem caused a data loss in Search and Discover performance during this period. As a result, users’ performance reports may experience a considerable data drop at this time. However, this is due to missing data in Search Console, not a decrease in hits or impressions for your site.

Google Search Console Insights

2022 August 9

Search Console Insights is a service that makes Google Search Console (GSC) and Google Analytics (GA) data available to content creators and website owners. Following last month’s announcement, Google received many positive comments and inquiries concerning the data. Google responded to some of the questions and clarified several things in their blog post.

Key takeaways:

  • If you properly connect GA to Search Console, you’ll gain access to more data that can help you better understand your content’s performance.
  • You’ll only be able to use the Google Search card if you don’t make an association.
  • It’s helpful to understand the differences between GA and GSC data.
