Google Completes Search Console Video Index Report Rollout

The report will help you understand your video’s performance on Google Search.
Why does this matter?
If Google added this report to Google Search Console, this means that you should take every opportunity to make use of videos.
The report will have the following:
- The indexed pages on your site containing a video that Google has indexed including some details;
- The indexed pages on your site where Google found one or more videos, but could not index any video including some details.
The report will not have the following:
- It does not normally show a count of unique videos on your site.
- It only covers your site’s indexed pages.
What to look for?
- Check if the total of the Video indexed + No video indexed is equal to the number of pages with videos on your site.
- Review if you have a high No video indexed count. This indicates video indexing issues (not page indexing issues: this is when your page is not indexed by Google).
- Monitor if the trend is increasing over time especially if you have a larger website with many videos.
